Designer Spotlight: Christopher Kane

CHRISTOPHER KANE

Every season, Christopher Kane chooses a print and then runs with it. For his Resort 2011 Collection, Kane admitted to being inspired by all things galactic. Fittingly, the print focus for this Collection is outerspace. And while his Fall 2010 line used leather to focus on all things floral, Kane continued to experiment with leather for his resort collection (a rarity in Resort lines), using the fabric on sleeves, jackets and wide-leg trousers. And while images of space ships and leather conjure anything but femininity, Kane's brilliant ability to mix soft and hard is not lost-and consequently permit certain levels of semi-sweet flirtatiousness. We love his fun usage of platform Zanottis trimmed with maribour fur-quirky and all things Kane!
